FAQ

What exactly is Functional Nutrition?

Functional Nutrition is a branch of Functional Medicine that addresses the root cause of chronic health conditions. Functional Nutrition Coaches believe the 'food as medicine' approach to overall health and wellness.

What does a Functional Health Coach do?

Functional Health Coaches are trained to look at the whole person, not just the disease or health condition. We take many things into consideration, such as family history, chronic sources of stress, quality of sleep, community engagement, movement and exercise, and of course, diet. We offer guidance and support every step of the way and believe in the body's natural ability to heal itself when given the right opportunities.

Can you provide lab work as a Functional Health Coach?

Absolutely! We can order labs that are targeted to address your specific health concerns. Your Functional Health Coach will review the results with you and create a personalized action plan so that you can take control of your health! And most labs are FSA and HSA eligible!

(Please note: all labs are reviewed by an overseeing physician who will notify you in the event of any critical results.)

Why is Functional Health important?

Harnessing the ancient wisdom of "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food," Functional Health Practitioners believe that most chronic health conditions are a product of bad medicine (i.e., refined carbohydrates and processed foods).

Our modern diets have paved the way to modern diseases such as ADHD and ASD, Alzheimer's and Dementia, Anxiety and Depression, Arthritis, Autoimmune Conditions, Diabetes, Obesity, Leaky Gut, PCOS, Insomnia and more. Moreover, modern medicine's answer to our health epidemic is to treat the symptoms with drugs, not address the underlying cause.

Functional Health Practitioners believe that prevention or reversal of chronic disease is possible when we remove the toxic exposure of foods, water and other environmental sources. We look at the whole person and fundamentally believe in the body's natural ability to heal itself. Let us help you to live well and find health today!
